DEMENTED ELVES- IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STORY
"Demented
Entirely irrational: completely unreasonable  or lacking any sense of the consequences of actions taken."
Urban Dictionary

dedicated to better story telling

It isn't the genre.  It isn't the platform.  It is all about the story.  The true sign of a great story is the one you don't like, but you can't let go.  It's the book you read that you can't put down.  It's the movie you can't walk away from.  So what makes a story memorable?  This is a page dedicated to learning the art of story telling.  The elves really don't care what story you write, just write it well.

It is the goal of the demented elves to create a place where the art of story telling can be perfected.  Through the study and discussion of what makes a story, we will dedicate ourselves to being better story tellers and maybe, just maybe someone else might learn something too.  So come along and join the elves on a journey towards being a master storyteller.

Writing with a twist

Picture
Life is full of unexpected surprises and I believe a good story should too.  It's not the typical story that catches our interest, but the weird, the wild, the WTF moment that makes us say "that was just plain wrong!"  It is what makes a good story great.  It is what I use when I create my next project in the hopes that the story delights the audience from beginning to end.  That my story is a source of great entertainment to all.

Not the same old story

While a superhero/action/romance/horror flick is always fun, it gets old fast when the sequel is released before the original is even out on DVD.  And do we really need a remake of a sequel or a remake that has been done more than three times?

I believe we need something new, something different.  So what if Santa is a Zombie, that ghosts can haunt tattoos, or there is a million dollar jewel stuck in the port o john, that is what makes the story different, unusual, and demented.
